A quick few words on The Sting: Yet another great movie. It's zippy and smart, great dialogue and performances (love Redford & Newman, as always), and some very well-done plotting. When I saw Chinatown earlier this year, I thought about how nice it is to see a classic movie and not already know the ending. It's pretty rare, what with Rosebud, Mother Bates and others becoming part of our culture, so it feels like an extra treat. I have to admit, I knew there was some big twist coming but I wasn't quite sure what, so I spent a lot of the last hour eying everyone suspiciously. I did kind of figure it out but not completely. Just a good time all around.
