Movie Poster Monday: Music from the Big House

I made the poster extra big this week because at the regular size you couldn't see the details, and you need to see those details because this poster is stunning. Really gorgeous. It's such a subtle effect - it took me a few seconds to see the music notes - but wow. Not a lot of insight, I know. This is a poster you could see being framed and hung as art in 20 or so years, like maybe the Manhattan poster. It has a similar graphic quality and toned-down color scheme that will really hold up well. As for the tagline... well, I used to be a headline writer, so I know how tough it is to come up with something eye-catching, slightly witty but also direct and to the point. Sometimes taglines really belabor a pun, but I think this one works OK. You usually can't be too punny with a documentary tagline because it's not appropriate for the subject matter, but people love a little wordplay. So yeah, I don't know if I'll ever see this little Canadian documentary, but what a great poster.
